TAKE TWO
Take Two was a series of work made from a large balloon that had been filled with plaster and then cradled while setting to produce a fetal like form.
These forms although replicated are subtly different because during casting differences are created during the process. Cast in marble resin imperfections are revealed in the crystalline surface reflecting that we are all individually different but the same.
The fetal forms are arranged in different combinations. The title is ironic expressing a repeated action.
The installation Take Two at the James Hockney gallery exhibited twenty five paired different arrangements - repetition creating difference with replication - also seen in nature as an evolutionary process.
